What an exciting day at school. We are celebrating being at school for 100 days! We had to place 100 cubes on the chart. We painted 100 dots! We used our imaginations to create pictures out of a 1-0-0! They came up with so many great ideas; a cat, a butterfly, a monster truck, a monkey, a wagon, a pair of glasses on a face, a scuba diver..... We made a 100 days hat and counted to 100 in French on the 100's chart. This is what we will look like at 100 years old! We made the number 100 with our bodies!
Making bird food was a lot of fun. We added lard to pine-cones before rolling them into the bird seed. We hung them outside of our classroom window. We are now waiting and hoping that the birds will stop by and feed off of them.
We also made pictures of birds in birch trees, and we added a "I Wonder Window" in our classroom. The students wrote notes on what they "wondered" about, such as "I wonder if birds will eat the food", "I wonder what kind of birds will come", "I wonder if birds will use our feeders", "I wonder how birds stay warm in a snow storm". |
