Halloween is a very exciting time of year. Our Dramatic Play area was turned into a "Witch's Kitchen". The students made potions with eye balls, spiders, worms, and bugs! We were busy practicing our fine motor skills by cutting funny pumpkin faces. And we made footprint ghosts. We made pumpkin cookies in class and they were delicious! We also roasted pumpkin seeds and enjoyed tasting those as well. We investigated the difference between an orange and white pumpkin. The orange pumpkin was orange inside and the white pumpkin was yellow inside. The seeds in the white pumpkin were also larger and it had a sweet smell to it. Briar thought it smelled like a "cucumber!" Scooping out the pumpkin was "gross!" In science, we learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin. We wrote about monsters and we even made monsters out of playdoh.
