Most of the students in our class LOVE gym time. They keep telling me that it's their "most favorite subject!" We are working on always playing co-cooperatively and for fun. Some days we play a specific game in the gym, and other times we have outdoor gym and they can choose an activity of their choice.

For one of our art lessons, we went outside, to examine up close, trees and their bark. We felt the tree trunk's texture, and noticed that they are very rough (not smooth), and that they have many different colours mixed together. Tree trunks are not completely brown........actually most are not even brown! We saw yellow, green, brown, black, white, gray all mixed together in one tree! We used pastels to create the tree's textures and colours.
We had fun getting to know each other and our classroom this week! We constantly sit beside new people with our "flexible seating" and we played some team building games in order to share our thoughts and ideas with others. One game was to build a solo cup tower with 6 solo cups, one elastic, and some string.....without touching the cups with our hands! The other game was to build the tallest tower of straws using 15 straws and one foot of tape. Not letting it fall over was the difficult part! In science we worked with a partner to list the things we knew about habitats, and things we would like to learn about.
