We all became Entomologists today! We learned how to identify insects, found out how some insects see, eat, and use camouflage and we discussed the life cycle of a butterfly. We observed, made predictions, asked questions, made comparisons, investigated, and made conclusions.....we were real scientists today! Even the parent volunteers had fun!

What a beautiful day for jumping! The SK's had a great time jumping in each station. We jumped through hoola-hoops, skipping ropes, sideways, over noodles, on disks, and even hop scotch. Our heart rates were really going! We raised money for a great cause. Yeah Berrigan!
Today, for "Heritage Day" we dressed up to represent the different places in which we come from.
There are 6 duckling eggs in the incubator. We hope they will all hatch. The first duckling hatched on Saturday April 23rd. He is 2 days old in these pictures. He can "peep", hop and run! Hopefully he will get some brothers and sisters soon. We have 2 ducklings now! The second duckling hatched on Monday, April 25th. The duckling on the right (light brown) is 4 days old and the duckling on the left (black with yellow belly) is 2 days old. So cute!! We love watching them!! We have a duck-duck-goose! Our little duckling in the front is now 9 days old, the one in the back is now 7 days old and our new gosling (in the middle) is 4 days old. It's hard to tell in the picture: the gosling is the youngest but is also the biggest! Today was an exciting day. We got to touch the ducklings and the gosling. We were able to watch them walk on the carpet. It was very funny when they jumped on us to try to escape the circle. They also liked to investigate our shoes! They will be going back to their farm tomorrow, but it was so very interesting to follow their growth. We will miss them!
The first duckling is now 11 days old, the second duckling is 9 days old and the gosling is 6 days old (he is huge)! |
